Follow Thermascan Through 2019!

A year around the UK

As a company, we have been all over England this year so we wanted to give you a little tour as to where we have been and what we have been doing!

Dover

To kick-off the year our FLIR T1020 was sent down to Dover on a hire where its high definition capabilities were used to potentially detect immigrants entering the country via the English Channel.

We attended a FLIR distributor meeting where we discussed the launch of the new Gas Imaging cameras such as the GF620 and the new thermal software (FLIR tools +) that were being released as well as changes to thermal imaging in the year.

County Durham:

March took us to a sealing company in County Durham where we survey electrical and mechanical equipment used to manufacture sealing solutions. Ensuring all machinery is running properly to guarantee high-quality products.

Wales

A lot of companies require thermal cameras 24/7 on their sites to help monitor temperatures. We went down to one of the sites in Wales who have some of the FLIR thermal cameras installed that were due to calibration. This was to ensure the infrared cameras are able to monitor wood chip in case of spontaneous combustion occurring. If the cameras are not calibrated readings will then be inaccurate meaning spontaneous combustion may occur.

Lincolnshire

A nice drive up to Lincoln leads us to a 6 monthly survey we conduct at an onion and garlic farm where the onions and garlic are grown, packed and processed ready to be sent to the supermarkets. This visit helps make sure machinery is healthy and nothing is overheating and ensuring there are no faulty electrics that could lead to potential delays in production making it a costly problem.

Newport Pagnell

Not too far from home, we travel to Newport Pagnell where we conduct thermal imaging at a plant where plastic bottles are produced in high quantities specialising in packaging products for both foods and drinks, we help maintain plant equipment looking at wearing and electrical defects.

Gloucestershire

We travelled to a recycling plant in Gloucester where we conducted a survey at a polythene recycling plant who are doing their part to help make our world a better place and save the environment by collecting plastic waste. Our job is to detect any stressing on machinery and electrical circuit boards.

Sunderland

We have thermal cameras situated on many sites across the UK for various companies, one of them is in Sunderland where we have automation cameras monitoring battery plant production and a car manufacturing plant. Detecting high-temperature spikes 24/7 to prevent fires in the plant by setting off alarms when certain temperatures are reached.

Doncaster

Bus bar inspections can be important in many industries to inspect switchboards, distribution boards and battery banks. Travelling down to Doncaster for this one to take place, this inspection helps find any problems with the bus bars as their purpose is to conduct a lot of electricity so it's vital they are inspected regularly to spot any early warning signs.

London

We went to our beloved capital, where we conducted on-site fire monitoring and suppression testing with the use of high-end thermal cameras and water cannons we conducted tests to ensure our equipment was working properly for continuous fire prevention monitoring on a waste management site.

Heywood

Food is important in every industry, as everyone needs to eat! This company helps supply this food to restaurants for customer consumption. All food is prepared and packed at their plants ready to be cooked at the restaurants they supply. Because this company works with food it’s important all their equipment is running perfectly all the time and also nothing is leaking into the food they are producing.

Tottenham

Building surveys are another one of our specialities and the one we conducted in September was for continuity in the insulation of a building helping see if any hot air was escaping or if cold air was coming in. This is great for ensuring your property is energy efficient, especially in cold winter months.

Milton Keynes

Everyone loves a bit of flavour in their food or drink, this company down in Milton Keynes makes sure that flavour is what you receive. Using advanced technology to guarantee amazing flavours every time getting just the right amount of everything added to your smoothie or cake. In order to do this their equipment needs to be in perfect condition and smooth running so thermal analysis on the bearing can be very important

Lincolnshire

One of our clients in Lincolnshire has several thermal cameras situated on their site to monitor and detect temperature anomalies. Checking for internal hotspots which can build up heat before breaking into fire; when storing biomass in large quantities this is because during storage periods dust can be produced that can lead to the enhanced risk of explosions.

Austria

Some of our equipment gets the pleasure of going around the world for filming in some amazing places. Our T1020 was used in Austria by a filming company to capture the life of some of the animals out there. This can be great for looking at how animals adapt to different climates and living conditions!
