What is the Current Situation?
The current widespread of the Coronavirus has seen a lot of people worry as numbers of those infected are still growing by the day. If you are a business and are concerned about the outbreak of COVID-19, we can sell you thermal cameras to help you detect if your employees or the general public are potential carriers of the virus.
As a company, we are looking at what we can do to help you.
Where Does Thermal Imaging Come into This?
As some of you may know, thermal imaging is already being used in many countries, including the UK, in places like airports, shops and coronavirus testing centres.
Due to their ability to read temperatures from a distance, it is a much safer way of checking people for the virus without having to come into contact with them. You also don’t need to wait for ages for the results to come through as the cameras can give you a temperature reading there and then.
How do you check people for COVID-19?
The first thing you need to do is set up your thermal camera so that it can alert you when a high temperature is reached:
- Go to settings
- Click device settings
- Disable laser and lamp then back to device settings
- Go to the user interface
- Click on screening mode and turn this on
By enabling screening mode on the thermal camera, you can set a baseline temperature and programme the camera so it beeps if a temperature 2˚C or more over that is reached.
Once your camera is set up you need to be measuring the temperature in the corner of someone’s eye or their tear duct area, this is more effective than forehead temperatures
Bellow, there is a step by step video tutorial on how to set up your camera and where to look
